WWE NXT Great American Bash averaged 394,000 viewers and a 0.07 P18-49 rating on the CW Network on Sunday night, according to Programming Insider.
It was NXT’s first special on the CW Network. It had a 7:00 pm start time, meaning it overlapped with AEW Forbidden Door’s pre-show “Buy-In”, which started at the same time, and the pay-per-view which started at 8:00 pm.
For some comparison, from April to June this year, NXT in its normal time slot on Tuesdays on CW averaged 575,000 viewers and a 0.08 P18-49 rating. The regular episode of NXT on the prior Tuesday before Great American Bash, airing on June 23, averaged 668,000 viewers. It was the show’s highest since February.
AEW Collision the night before, airing on TNT in its normal time slot averaged 332,000 viewers and a 0.04 P18-49 rating.
The NXT special would not be expect to perform similarly to main roster programming, but for some context, when the first hour of WWE’s main roster PLE, Backlash, aired on ESPN2 last month, it averaged 998,000 viewers and a 0.33 P18-49 rating, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
