AEW Dynamite, Aug 28 on TBS: 697,000 viewers; 0.23 P18-49 rating | TV ratings, attendance analysis

Wrestlenomics is not affiliated with or licensed by Nielsen.

Update: Due to a Nielsen reporting error, the viewership data for this episode of Dynamite has been corrected. The error occurred because WBD mistakenly designated that Dynamite ended at 10:09 pm instead of its actual end time of 10:06 pm. As a result, viewership data for the 3 minutes of Modern Family that followed Dynamite was incorrectly included in Dynamite’s average.

The corrected, slightly higher viewership figures are as follows:

  • Total viewership: 697,000 (previously reported as 691,000)

  • P18-49 viewership: 303,000 (previously reported as 301,000)

These corrections represent changes of 0.9% for total viewership and 0.7% for P18-49 viewership. Consequently, the P18-49 rating now rounds to 0.23, up from the previously reported 0.22.

This isn’t unprecedented. For the Mar. 13 episode of Dynamite this year, correcting for a Nielsen error resulted in a slightly lower measurement. You can view that report here. June 17, 2022 episodes of both Smackdown and Rampage were corrected after out-of-home viewing was undercounted for telecasts on that day. You can view that report here.

For transparency, using the new P18-49 Nielsen universe estimate of 1340.9 (representing 134,090,000 people aged 18-49 in U.S. TV households), the corrected P18-49 rating is calculated as follows: 303 / 1340.9 = 0.22597, rounding to 0.23. The previous incorrect rating was calculated as 301 / 1340.9 = 0.22476, which rounded to 0.22. For fans of Nielsen universe estimates, if that UE looks new to you, it’s because new annual UEs, which convert viewers to national ratings (and vice versa), went into effect this past Monday, Aug. 26. Before Monday, the P18-49 universe estimate was 1318.8 (or 131,880,000 people aged 18-49 in U.S. TV households).

Dynamite’s ranking as #1 for the day on cable in P18-49 is unchanged as it was already #1 with the slightly lower number initially reported.

The data below has been updated to reflect the correction.
