A special on the Women of Wrestling series titled, “ET Inside & Ringside: WOW” aired on Wednesday night on broadcast network The CW from 8 to 9 pm.
The show averaged 179,000 viewers and a 0.04 P18-49 rating, according to a Nielsen source. About one-third of the audience within 18 to 49 were women. Total viewership for the special as well as the percentage of women in the demo were lower than for WOW in syndication.
The special went head-to-head with the first hour of AEW Dynamite on TBS, which had its highest P18-49 audience since September.
WOW in syndication in November averaged 279,000 viewers. In the demo it averaged a 0.04 P18-49 rating for the month, equal to what Wednesday’s special delivered. Among half of WOW’s syndication audience in the demo are women.
Viewership for the WOW special was lower in total viewership than what CW has been doing on Wednesdays at 8 pm, according to SpoilerTV data, but comparable in P18-49:
- On Dec. 20, “Christmas Around the USA” (coded as a rerun) averaged 430,000 and a 0.04 P18-49 rating.
- On Dec. 13, Sullivan’s Crossing averaged 371,000 and 0.03.
- On Dec. 6, the Republican Presidential Primary Debate had a much bigger audience than normal for CW in primetime, 2,303,000 and 0.27.
- On Nov. 29, Sullivan’s Crossing averaged 531,000 and 0.06.
NXT is set to move to The CW’s primetime schedule in fall 2024.
