Last Thursday’s episode of Impact was the second week of “Impact 1000” as the series reached 1000 episodes. The first week, on September 14 averaged 107,000 viewers, nearly the same number as last Thursday’s airing, and an equal P18-49 rating of 0.01.

Despite the milestone, the two episodes before these two “Impact 1000” shows had higher viewership, with 134,000 viewers on August 31 and 114,000 on September 7. Impact began going head-to-head with Thursday Night Football on September 7, which is likely affecting its viewership.

New Japan on AXS TV was also down from prior weeks despite featuring the G1 Climax final match. The trailing three weeks featuring earlier matches in the G1 each averaged 60,000; 84,0000; and 81,000 viewers.

Year-over-year, though, both Impact and New Japan continued their streak of improvements in viewership versus the same month of the prior year. Impact was up 26% in September, compared to last year, and New Japan was up 36%.
