New results of our Net Promoter Score study show AEW Dynamite and WWE Smackdown in the lead among WWE and AEW programs, with Collision just behind Smackdown. Raw and Smackdown had recoveries since our last survey in June 2021. NXT and Rampage were at the bottom of the list.
Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and New Japan were surveyed but I chose to leave them off the chart above because the number of responses who said they currently regularly watch those products was just 44 (Impact), 22 (Ring of Honor), and 21 (New Japan). For this period, Impact was measured with an NPS of -0.26, ROH was at -0.08, and New Japan was at +0.24.
Raw had 193 respondents who were said they were current, regular viewers, Smackdown had 192, NXT had 88, Dynamite had 174, Collision had 141, and Rampage had 127.
What is a Net Promoter Score?
A Net Promoter Score study, which is used in many businesses, asks respondents how likely they would be to recommend a product they use (in this case various wrestling television programs) to a friend. The metric is believed to be a strong predictor of revenue growth potential.
You can read more about the methodology at the end of this report.
Latest results compared to the last time this survey was conducted
Still the leader, Dynamite’s score was down to +0.32 from +0.37 the last time we completed this survey more than two years ago.
From the same survey 27 months ago, Smackdown was up to +0.27 from +0.03 and Raw was up to +0.15 from its negative rating of -0.29.
The end of the Wednesday Night War era, when NXT and Dynamite went head-to-head, had finished only two months prior when this survey was last completed. NXT had an NPS score of +0.17 at that time. It’s now fallen to -0.03.
Rampage and Collision hadn’t debuted when the previous survey was conducted so we don’t have comparison points for those.
I plan to resume doing these surveys more frequently. I couldn’t run Facebook/Meta ads after our ads account was hacked, unauthorized charges were made to the account, and the account was locked.
More about the methodology of this study
In our methodology, likelihood to recommend is measured using a 0 to 5 scale, with “0” meaning the respondent “definitely would not recommend” and a “5” indicating they “definitely would”. Net Promoter Score is calculated by subtracting the percentage of responses answering 0 to 3 (“detractors”) from the percentage of responses answering 5 (“promoters”). Responses of 4 (“passives”) are not included in the formula. This methodology differs from most NPS studies, which use a 10-point scale. We continue to use a 5-point scale because it allows us to give subjects a more readable survey form. We might use a 10-point scale in the future.
Responses were gathered independently by Wrestlenomics, using a Meta Business ad. The ad was targeted only at users from the United States. Meta now limits its advertising tool so only adults aged 18 or above can be targeted while specifying interests. Previous iterations of this study included responses from people aged 13 to 17. The median age for the latest sample was 43. The median age for previous reports was 40 (June 2021), 37 (March 2021), and 44 (December 2020).
To mitigate underrepresentation, responses were adjusted for race proportionate to the U.S. population (based on U.S. Census Bureau data) and adjusted for gender based on the assumption (supported by Nielsen data) that about 33% of the U.S. wrestling audience are women.
Responses were counted as valid for these results only if the respondent selected “United States”, from a set of other options, as the country they currently live in. Most responses came from those who saw the ad on Facebook. The ad was also served to users on Instagram.
NPS values from previous reports may differ from this report because of differences in how demographic subsets were grouped and weighed.
What if these results weren’t adjusted for demographics?

The order of the shows is the same but Collision is closer to Raw than Smackdown.
Did women respond differently?

Of 108 female respondents, they preferred Smackdown over Dynamite and Raw over Collision, but still rated NXT lowest.
Breakdowns of other specific demos rely on less than 100 responses so I’ll stop here.
